
Martin Potts
Martin has both technical and managerial expertise in modern telecommunications systems and networks. He has over 15 years experience in managing international projects, and of chairing strategic committees.
Martin spent the early part of his career working in the UK for a major telecommunications manufacturer, and then at the British Telecom Research Laboratories. While working for BT he was in one of the pioneering multi-service network development teams. In 1988, he moved to Switzerland and played a major role in leading European projects, including managing a large test bed in the EU’s RACE and ACTS programmes.
Martin has been responsible for managing Martel's activities in CADENUS, SHUFFLE, CRUMPET, 6NET and the NGN Initiative in the IST programme. He also provides consultancy to a number of major international companies.
Martin has written many articles and papers. He sits on the programme committees of several world-class conferences, and has made presentations in international events such as 'Globecom'.
Sandra Wittwer
Sandra specialises in the financial and administrative aspects of EU project management; being an expert on topics such as: Advance Payments, Cost Claims, Independent Financial Audits, liaison with the European Commission's contract department and internal budgeting. She is very familiar with many office software tools and can take care of document formatting, the preparation of presentation material and compilation of progress reports.
Monique Calisti
Monique is Senior Consultant and Project Manager at
Martel GmbH. From 2002 until 2010 she has worked for Whitestein
Technologies being responsible for participation and technical
contribution to various national and international research projects and
several other activities, such as business development, consulting,
scientific editing and publishing.
In the last 15 years, she has been involved in several European projects
(securing project affiliation, funding, management and technical
contribution) and initiatives (expert reviewer, invited speaker at
EU-organized workshops and events), she has been serving as Program
Committee member of many international conferences and workshops in the
area of artificial intelligence, software agents, autonomic computing
and communication, she has given several tutorials in both academic and
industrial fora, and she has worked on more than 50 publications in
various conferences, journals, workshops and books. Dr. Calisti was a
member of the Board of Directors for the Autonomic Communication Forum,
ACF, and for several years, she has also been actively involved in the
activity of the IEEE FIPA standardisation body, where she has been
member of the Board of Directors from 2001 to 2004. Monique holds a
Ph.D. in Computer Science from EPFL, and a Ph.D. in Telecommunications
from the University of Bologna, Italy.
Tony Price
Tony has degrees in Modern Languages with Philosophy, and Marketing and Sales Management. He has a solid background in international business studies, and a long career in a variety of industrial markets, including various project management roles with the responsibility for the co-ordination of international projects and their achievement of delivery deadlines within the budgeted technical/cost constraints. Tony Price brings considerable marketing and technical/logistic experience, which is being fully supported and complemented by the proven telecommunications expertise and infrastructure within Martel.
Alicia Higa
Alicia joined Martel in 2009. Her background is as a Senior Business Analyst / Project Leader in the IT sector, with much experience of managing large and complex technology projects and teams within a multidisciplinary environment. She also has experience of Website design (e.g. for UN NGOs)
